Covid-19

While the risk to individuals from COVID-19 remains, Paul Sartori Hospice at Home continues to care for people with life-limiting illnesses within their own home. It is therefore important that we take all reasonable steps to protect the wellbeing of those using our services, as well as those working and volunteering for the charity.

Clinical Services

All hospice at home services remain responsive and flexible to ensure that our patients remain in their own homes close to their loved ones.  This is important now more than ever before especially as hospitals limit patient access to protect staff and those in their care. Our teams have increased the use of PPE and introduced video monitors to save disturbing patients which also reduces PPE usage.

The Complementary Therapy and ACP services continue to offer telephone support. The Bereavement and Anticipatory Grief Counselling Service are offering face to face sessions with COVID-19 precautions in place together with remote support.

The clinical team is continuing to work between the office and home to reduce the footfall at Paul Sartori House with a rota in place to adhere to social distancing rules.

Remote, secure meeting platforms have been installed to ensure that all teams are able to update safely and securely online.

Administration

Our office is currently open. However, we are operating with reduced staff as we encourage our team to work from home where possible, in line with government guidelines, and to ensure that social distancing is always possible. Remote access to the Head Office telephone line has been organised to ensure the phone is manned at all times.

Sartori Stores and Furnishings

We endeavour to keep our shops open while adhering to Covid-19 safety precautions. Our warehouse and most stores are open.  However, some stores are operating with reduced opening hours. We are accepting donations, by appointment only, to help with stock quarantine procedures and to support cleaning regimes and safe merchandising. We are asking customers and donors to refer to our Sartori Stores page here to find their local store contact details to call ahead of visiting.

Fundraising

All our in-house fundraising events are currently on hold. However, our amazing supporters are continuing to raise funds in all sorts of imaginative ways and the team is on hand with support and to share your efforts across social media with other friends and supporters of Paul Sartori.

We are using our website and social media platforms to keep in touch with friends and supporters to communicate our clinical and fundraising activities.

In addition to Welsh Government, Local Health Board and Local Government funding we are applying as usual to the many Trusts and Grant Makers for additional funding.

We ask that all patients, relatives, friends, staff, volunteers, and contractors to consider whether they could be a potential carrier of COVID-19 before visiting Paul Sartori House or any of our retail outlets to protect our all of our stakeholders,
