Paul Sartori Hospice at Home is delighted to announce it has been awarded a £2,000 grant from Hospice Aid UK to support its Complementary Therapy Service, providing welcome support to patients with life-limiting illnesses in Pembrokeshire.
The funding will enable the charity to purchase essential resources, products, accessories and other small items needed to deliver personalised complementary therapies to patients, carers, and bereaved individuals. These therapies, which include treatments such as reflexology, reiki and massage, help alleviate symptoms such as pain, anxiety, and stress — improving overall wellbeing during exceptionally difficult times. The aim is to provide relaxing, beneficial treatments, self-help strategies and products tailored for individual needs and to help ease physical, psychological and emotional symptoms.
The Complementary Therapy Service complements conventional health care to support patients and forms part of Paul Sartori’s wider package of free services offered across Pembrokeshire, which also includes hands-on home nursing care, equipment loan, bereavement counselling, advance care planning and training.
“It is our pleasure, and we are thrilled to provide funding for the essential items such as products, accessories and other small items needed to continue the support of complimentary therapy sessions, which play a crucial role in the well-being of your patients. Here at Hospice AID UK, we are committed to making life better and easier for hospices all over the UK,” said Trish Loveland, Head of Fundraising for Hospice Aid UK.
Heather Green, Complementary Therapy Team Coordinator at Paul Sartori, added “Complementary therapies can make a huge difference to our patients’ quality of life, often providing comfort and relief when they need it most. This funding will ensure we can continue to deliver these treatments with care and compassion across Pembrokeshire. We are extremely grateful to Hospice Aid UK for their support.”
The charity’s Complementary Therapy Service is highly valued by those who access it. One recent service user commented, “Each treatment has had a very positive impact on my wellbeing, both physiologically and psychologically. Thank you.”
