A local couple from Simpsons Cross have recently been celebrating 50 years of marriage. Dilwyn and Marilyn Phillips decided that they wanted to hold an afternoon tea for their special wedding anniversary, and their family and guests were asked for donations in lieu of presents. The donations were raised for local charity; Paul Sartori Hospice at Home to continue their end of life services in Pembrokeshire.
Dilwyn said “I started my speech with HMDW, everyone looked quite confused until I explained it meant Hasn’t Marilyn done well. We did not want any presents, so we chose to support this worthy charity which is close to our hearts.”
A staggering total of £1200.00 was raised and the couple recently went into Paul Sartori House to present them with the money.

Paul Sartori Hospice at Home provides a range of services to Pembrokeshire people living in the final stages of a life-limiting illness, including home nursing care, equipment loan, complementary therapy, bereavement and counselling support, under 18’s anticipatory grief and bereavement support, physiotherapy, advance care planning and training.
The services provided by the Paul Sartori Hospice at Home enable people in the later stages of any life-limiting illness to be cared for and to die at home with dignity, independence, pain free and surrounded by those they hold most dear, if that is their wish.
All of the services are free of charge and are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, thanks to the generosity of the Pembrokeshire Community.
