Since 2007 local Pembroke man, Mal Powell has been organising and running classic car events annually from various local venues. From May to August he arranges one or two meets a month for avid car enthusiasts to show off their pride and joy. In September, the end of the season he carries out a Classic Car Run from the Plough Inn in Sageston.

At each of the classic car events the participants are asked for a donation to support a local charity. In previous years the events have supported RNLI, Wales Air Ambulance and MacMillan. For the last 9 years Mal has chosen to support local Hospice at Home charity – Paul Sartori Foundation. The vital funds raised at these events will help Paul Sartori to continue providing the hospice at home service for anyone in the later stages of any life limiting illness.

Since 2007 Mal and his small team of friends have managed to raise over £95,000 for various charities. Pat Coombs, Clinical Coordinator for Paul Sartori Foundation said “Without this fantastic money raised by Mal Powell and his friends at the Classic Car events, Paul Sartori would be at a huge shortfall within their fundraising targets required each year to provide this essential service within our County. We would all like to take this opportunity to thank Mal and the Classic car enthusiasts for their continued support over the years”

Mal said “I enjoy organising these events for a good cause. They are weather dependant, but over the years we have been extremely lucky and only had to cancel one event. Paul Sartori Foundation provide a very good service in the community, and they are open to anyone. It is a wonderful charity and should be supported 100%.”

Paul Sartori Hospice at Home provides a range of services to Pembrokeshire people living in the final stages of a life-limiting illness, including home nursing care, equipment loan, complementary therapy, bereavement and counselling support, under 18’s anticipatory grief and bereavement support, physiotherapy, advance care planning and training.

The services provided by the Paul Sartori Hospice at Home enable people in the later stages of any life-limiting illness to be cared for and to die at home with dignity, independence, pain free and surrounded by those they hold most dear, if that is their wish.

All of the services are free of charge and are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, thanks to the generosity of the Pembrokeshire Community.
