The Paul Sartori Challenge held at West Wales Karting this year was exhilarating for everyone involved, from the competitors, marshals’, sponsors and spectators. This was a very competitive event once again. The qualifying heats were held over 6 nights, accumulating with the final held on 21st October. Teams from all around the County and even Carmarthen came to challenge each other on the track.

It was a Grand Prix style competition where the teams of four raced Le Mans style over 90 minutes with the winning team completing the most laps. The winning team from each night gained free entry into the Grand Final. Trophies were also presented each night to the 1st, 2nd & 3rd placed teams. There was a BBQ and refreshments each night too.

This year’s event was again sponsored by Gravells Kia of Narberth, with a representative at the event.

Toni Dorkings, Community Fundraiser for Paul Sartori Foundation said “A huge thank you to Ian and Dan at West Wales Karting and John Harries of Kilgetty Motors for organising this outstanding event that raised £7637.45 to help support the Paul Sartori Hospice at Home services”.

“We are extremely grateful for the fantastic amount raised during the Paul Sartori Challenge” said Lisa Wells, the Income Generation Team Administrator. “It is through the generosity of local businesses and residents that we can continue to provide this much needed service for anyone in the later stages of any life limiting illness. The services are available free of charge, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.” Lisa continued.
