The Paul Sartori Foundation is delighted to announce an exciting new chapter for its retail presence in Haverfordwest, with the creation of a brand-new Sartori Community Store at the former Factory Shop building on Snowdrop Lane.
The new store, currently under development, will offer a significantly larger and more versatile space to showcase the charity’s wide range of high-quality pre-loved and new goods. Every purchase made in-store will continue to directly support the Foundation’s vital, free hospice at home services for people across Pembrokeshire.
This move marks a major step forward in enhancing both the shopping experience and the charity’s ability to generate income to support local patients and families when they need it most.
As part of this transition, the Paul Sartori Foundation will be closing its long-standing Bridge Street store, which has proudly served the Haverfordwest community for 16 years.
The charity extends its heartfelt thanks to the building’s landlords for their generosity and support since they moved in in November 2011. The premises hold a special place in the town’s history, fondly remembered by many as the former home of the Sartori café, and before that, the charming shop ‘The Moon and Sixpence,’ located in historic Swan Square overlooking the Old Bridge, which dates back to 1726.
While the Bridge Street chapter comes to a close, the spirit of the store will live on in its new home, with the same friendly team making the move to Snowdrop Lane.
The new Sartori Community Store promises not only more space for shopping but also an improved, community-focused environment. Plans are already in place to introduce guest sellers, community group sessions, and special events, creating a vibrant hub for local people.
In addition, the Foundation’s current Snowdrop Lane premises will be transformed into a central warehouse and donation drop-off point, enabling the team to better manage the incredible volume of donations received from the public.
The site will also feature a dedicated mobility centre, providing a much-needed base for the sale of larger second-hand mobility aids, including scooters—items that are in high demand across the county.
Julia Brady, Head of Retail at the Paul Sartori Foundation, said:
“This is a truly exciting step forward for our retail team and for the communities we support. Our new Snowdrop Lane store will give us the space to grow, to offer an even wider and more inspiring range of goods, and to create a welcoming environment where people feel part of something bigger. Every visit, every donation, and every purchase helps us continue delivering our free hospice at home care across Pembrokeshire, and we look forward to welcoming everyone to be part of this next chapter.”
Customers and supporters are warmly invited to take part in a forthcoming closing down sale at the Bridge Street store, with details to be announced once a moving date has been confirmed.
The Foundation also looks forward to celebrating the Grand Opening of the Sartori Community Store and welcomes everyone to experience the same familiar Sartori warmth in a brand-new setting.
In preparation for the move, the charity will also be recruiting new volunteers to join its retail team. For more information, please contact Julia Brady on 07443 110867, Eleanor Evans on 07436 232754, or Head Office on 01437 763223.
