Paul Sartori Hospice at Home has recently received a donation of £1,000 from the South Hook LNG Community Fund managed by PAVS, which has enabled the charity to purchase 40 branded fleeces in a range of sizes for its dedicated team of event volunteers and to supplement the volunteer uniform available. This is in addition to a recent donation from the Port of Milford Haven Community Fund which funded the purchase of 30 branded polo shirts.
Volunteers are the backbone of the charity, and without them, Paul Sartori would simply not be able to run its services. These fleeces will be distributed to event volunteers who help to raise vital funds and support the charity at a wide range of community events across the county. The team are busy throughout the year in Pembrokeshire with events such as the New Year’s Day Dip, Paul Sartori Bike It, the Pembrokeshire Car Runs, the Pembrokeshire County Show, and the iconic That’ll Be The Day concert at Folly Farm.

The uniform will ensure that volunteers are visible, easily recognisable and will always portray a professional image while representing the charity. It also responds to a clear need – with the charity not currently having enough uniform items to support its growing team of event volunteers.
“We are delighted to equip our volunteers with additional uniform. They have expressed a willingness to purchase their own polo shirts and fleeces, which clearly demonstrates their enthusiasm and commitment, but Paul Sartori believes volunteers should be provided with a uniform as recognition of their vital contribution,” said Jo Lutwyche, Event & Fundraising Officer at Paul Sartori.
Judith Williams, Grant Development Officer at Paul Sartori, said “We are hugely grateful to the South Hook LNG Community Fund for their ongoing support of our charity. Our event volunteers are the heart of our fundraising efforts, and these fleeces will help keep them comfortable, safe and professional, whatever the weather. This is a wonderful way to recognise their hard work and dedication to Paul Sartori Hospice at Home.”
This project closely reflects the South Hook LNG’s key themes: supporting safety by ensuring volunteers are clearly identifiable; protecting the environment through uniforms that are reusable and transferable; promoting education by presenting a professional, informative image for the public; and enhancing wellbeing by fostering team spirit and helping volunteers feel valued, supported and prepared.
South Hook LNG has been a regular supporter of Paul Sartori Hospice at Home, and this latest donation from the Community Fund managed by PAVS continues a valued partnership that helps the charity sustain vital end-of-life care services across Pembrokeshire.
The charity offers an extensive range of volunteering opportunities for local people in not only their events team, but also within their charity shops throughout the county. Enquiries relating to volunteering, should be directed to Eleanor Evans, the Volunteering Officer at Paul Sartori by phoning their head office.
