Paul Sartori Hospice at Home was delighted to announce the expansion of its Pembroke Dock charity shop, following the successful knock-through into the adjoining unit at Bierspool, London Road, Pembroke Dock.

The exciting expansion significantly increased the shop’s floor space and created a fantastic opportunity to offer a wider range of stock, particularly furniture, in the newly extended area.

The shop team, led by Kelly Elliot and supported by a dedicated group of volunteers, showed huge enthusiasm for the project and worked tirelessly to prepare the shop for its official opening on Friday, 1st May.

The charity was incredibly grateful to outgoing Mayor of Pembroke Dock, Cllr Michelle Wiggins, for officially opening the store, and to Head of Retail Julia Brady for welcoming the crowd on the day. Thanks were also extended to all staff and volunteers who decorated the store and worked hard for weeks to create a fantastic, welcoming space for customers. A special thank you was given to Gill at Pembroke Dock Tesco for her generous support in donating treats for customers and staff.

Paul Sartori Hospice at Home currently operates nine retail shops and an eBay department, all of which work incredibly hard to turn generous donations from the public into vital income. This income directly supports the charity’s clinical teams, who provide free specialist palliative care to patients and families across Pembrokeshire.

It costs £3,600 every day to deliver these free, essential clinical services. Around 30% of this cost is funded through Hywel Dda Health Board, with the remaining funding raised through retail income, fundraising, and community support.

As part of the expansion, the Pembroke Dock shop is now open seven days a week, giving the community even more opportunities to shop, donate, and support local hospice care.

Every purchase helps ensure that Paul Sartori Hospice at Home can continue delivering compassionate care to those who need it the most, so please pop in to any of our stores for a warm welcome.
