The Aftertones; a local pop choir which was formed in July 2017 recently held a charity concert in Pennar Hall, Pembroke Dock, all in aid of Paul Sartori Hospice at Home. Helen Boyce; the musical director of The Aftertones, her friends and colleagues set up this choir after having the ambition for a few years. They are not a traditional choir, they do not sing choral music, they sing a variety of popular songs from various genres; from Beyonce and Fleetwood Mac to Take That.
Their first charity concert on 17th November was a huge success, and the ticket sales were fantastic. Also, the Pennar Hall Committee donated the use of the hall free of charge for their show, helping the choir raise a grand total of £455.00.
The cheque was recently presented by Helen Boyce to Toni Dorkings, the Community Fundraiser for Paul Sartori.
“We are very grateful that The Aftertones chose to support the Paul Sartori Hospice at Home with their first ever concert. We wish them all the success in the future.” Said Lynn Hunter, Paul Sartori Registered Nurse.
If you fancy joining the Aftertones on stage next time, they are looking for new members. Anyone 18+ is welcome to join. They meet on a Tuesday evening at Pennar Hall, 7:30pm – 9:30pm. Message them on Facebook.
