Paul Sartori Hospice at Home, who benefitted from the Co-op Local Community Fund during 2020/2021, recently established the “Stepping Stone to Hope” project. This project has enabled the charity to provide tailored guidance on promoting sleep, calm and relaxation for adults in Pembrokeshire who are facing the challenges of a loss; are recently bereaved or are facing the challenge of a recent diagnosis.

Part of this project involves reaching out to the community, by hosting small workshops, to explore self-help techniques and tools for self-care to aid difficulties experienced by these individuals. The aim of these workshops are to help carers, patients or anybody facing these challenges. Topics covered will be the management of anxiety, grief, poor sleep, emotional and physical pain. Guided meditation practices, breathing techniques, natural remedies and self-massage will be included.

The free workshops are planned on Wednesday 26th October (1pm – 3.30pm) and Tuesday 29th November (10am – 12.30pm) at Paul Sartori House, Winch Lane, Haverfordwest – the charity’s main head office.

Individuals who are interested are encouraged to phone 07917 074300 or email enquiries@paulsartori.org to book their free space. Spaces are limited. Refreshments will be provided free of charge during the session.

This unique project has seen two of the charity’s services, the Complementary Therapy and Adult Bereavement and Counselling Services, coming together to provide tailored guidance and self-help tools.

“We are pleased to be able to extend our reach into the community by hosting these unique workshops for carers, patients or others facing the challenge of a loss, whether it is through bereavement, or a difficult diagnosis or a health condition,” said Heather Green Complementary Therapy Coordinator. “These workshops are designed to provide a safe space for adults to explore self-help techniques to help support them,” added Heather.

Further workshops will be planned during January and March 2023.
